Brockett Courtesy Middletown police By Press Staff # Comments MIDDLETOWN >> City narcotics officers turned up tens of thousands of dollars worth of narcotics, marijuana, cash and psychedelics last week after serving a warrant on a Goodyear Avenue man with a number of drug convictions, according to a report. After hours of surveillance and garbage searches, police arrested Douglas M. Brockett, 34, on March 29 at Marijuana Stocks 8 a.m. following his reported confession of having a half-pound of marijuana in his home. Police say an investigation of his house turned up marijuana seeds, .55 ounces of cocaine under a fish tank, jars with cash inside, butane honey oil, three blue spray bottles with anabolic steroids inside, a tube of pot stems, jars and small plastic bags of marijuana, a digital scale, psychedelic mushrooms and a mason jar with marijuana submerged in liquid in the freezer. The total amount of contraband seized was 2.59 pounds of marijuana, worth $23,460 on the street; .55 ounces of cocaine, worth $1,559; 12.89 ounces of mushrooms, worth $1,289; and $9,146 in cash, police said. In this case, he was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell, use of drug paraphernalia, three counts of distribution of controlled substances within a school zone, two counts of possession of narcotics and possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana. Brockett was initially held in lieu of a $300,000 bond; at his arraignment, the judge lowered it to $75,000, which he posted. Hes due back in Middlesex Superior Court on April 12.
